Local HealthWatch Bucks
What is Local HealthWatch?
Local Healthwatch will be the new consumer champion for users of health and social care services. Local Healthwatch is being created as part of the Health and Social Care Bill currently making its way through Parliament
What sort of organisation will Local HealthWatch be?
As Local HealthWatch, organisations will have responsibilities for helping individuals by advising people about services and accessing advocacy services it is proposed that they will become corporate bodies but the type of organisation will be for local determination.
Update
On January 3rd 2012, the Health Minister, Andrew Lansley, announced that local authorities now have until April 2013 to establish Local Healthwatch in their area.
The previous date for establishing Local Healthwatch was October 2012.
As a result, the original timeline on this site has been removed so that revisions can be made.
On the right hand side are two reports which pose further engagement questions; the focus group report, which has questions throughout the document, and the Making Local Healthwatch work in Buckinghamshire report, which has 4 questions on page 5.
